The Voices plot
"Hearing voices can be murder."
Jerry Hickfang (Ryan Reynolds) is a reclusive young man who works at a factory that specializes in bathroom accessories. His solitary existence is largely dominated by his two pets, Mr. Whiskers (a cat) and Bosco (a dog), who are able to 'communicate' with Jerry. The problem is that Jerry's pets often try to convince him to do terrible things. It's only after he gets to know Katie (Gemma Arterton) that some normalcy appears in his life. However, a tragic accident throws Jerry's life completely out of balance, and the only people he can turn to for help are his own talking pets.

Mediocre film about a man who hears voices and acts accordingly. The combination between horror and comedy doesn't work well here, despite the quirky tone of the film. Also, the main character is only superficially developed and therefore does not really captivate. Nice ending credits and nice that Ryan Reynolds also did the voices of the dog and the cat.

The Voices is a bit of a horror comedy, crime is also in it, but in my opinion it is better a horror.
The Voices is a bit bland here and there, with not too successful humor. At times it is funny, but this kind of humor is not really what I like to watch. Reynolds was fun in Deadpool so it wasn't his fault and Artenton was fun in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. The cast was fine.
It's often just a little bit boring, bland actually. Some moments are also a bit bloody which makes up for something, but the film can't carry that completely in my opinion. Okay, but certainly no more.

Jerry lives in a beautiful pink-colored world, where everyone is nice and friendly. The cat and dog are talking to him at home and Jerry is in love. Unfortunately, Jerry listens more to the advice of his pets than his psychiatrist, who strongly advises him to keep taking those pills.
Nicely filmed, only the right tone needed for this mixture of Forrest Gump and Macabro is just missed. Nevertheless, nice try.
