The Boxtrolls plot
"When troubles strikes friends stack together"
The Victorian era in the town of Cheesebridge. The city fears the trolls who live under the city streets and emerge at night to steal children and cheese, the two things they deem most valuable. A young orphaned boy, raised by the underground trolls, tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator.

I took a chance on this one and I thought it was a fine film, but I liked the predecessors (Paranorman, but especially Coraline) better. There the story was more surprising.
Visually, this is certainly not inferior and it looked very good.
Also, the voices were nice.
Nice to have seen.

The story may not be that great, but it's an excellent excuse to stage phenomenal clay animation, set design and the very nice voice actors (Elle Fanning is especially great with her posh Brits). And that provides for an hour and a half of top entertainment.
