Intimidated by the other staff and the psychotic confusion of the patients, she is also discouraged by seemingly supernatural events on the night shift. Ultra-cheap junk appears to have been filmed in a demolition building and is very poorly shot. Lots of bullshit interspersed with sudden (and ineffective) outbursts of violence. Lisa [Sophia Del Pizzo] cared for her critically ill mother during the last years of her life and therefore thinks that a job at Amityville Asylum is perfect for her. Her application to Dr Elliot Mixter [Jared Morgan] may still make you laugh, but the scenes with colleague Delaney [Lee Bane] are enough to lull you to sleep. Not the worst movie with the word 'Amityville' in the title, but that's about it.

This time we find ourselves in a psychiatric institution where things start to get spooky again. Main character Sophia Del Pizzo gets a job as a cleaner here, even though she never walks around with a broom in her hand. After just an hour she is already sexually harassed, complaining about the appearance of ghosts and being shown around by a concierge (??). It doesn't get any crazier, pun intended. Inexplicable is the use of the camera, which always pushes itself right onto the faces of the cast members and always makes the background far too blurry, so that it is impossible to create any kind of atmosphere in any way. The interior looks like a small real estate agency and the continuous plot is quickly lost. The desperate plot twist continues to hit like a pair of pliers on a pig, but fortunately the finale becomes a bit wilder so that there is something to enjoy. I didn't think Pizzo's acting was bad, but ultimately The Amityville Asylum is pulp of the highest order.
