Bekas plot
"The American Dream is waiting just around the corner."
It's the early nineties. Saddam Hussein's regime is putting a lot of pressure on the Kurdish part of Iraq. Dana and Zana are two poor homeless brothers who try to earn a living by cleaning shoes. They lost their parents in the first Gulf War. When one day they see the Hollywood movie Superman in a small cinema, they decide to leave for America, where their hero is located. They buy a donkey, which they christen 'Michael Jackson' and set off. Without money or papers, the boys are at the mercy of their luck and the generosity of others. However, their journey is long and fraught with danger.
