Watched more of the Uwe Boll the last few weeks , but man oh man , to summarize his 3 life mottos : I 'm fed up with this world . Fuck everybody , life's unfair .

Then controversial trigger happy to deliver cheap looking shit like this.

And that can be seen once, but to see one of his motorcycles made into a film is enough after one time. But more is not recommended .

With those explosions where you see the budget , and that is not so good .

I prefer to watch The Punisher , or Id because it doesn't take itself too seriously either.

There is no lightness here anywhere, that is possible, for example in an epic about slavery, for example, but here ,,,,, well clearly not good enough on my part, but who knows, maybe your bulb may surprise me again, will surprise me , because now I know .

OK.

Boll has directed some brilliant titles in the same style, but here he takes a slightly too predictable and dramatic path. In his previous more serious films he managed to find the perfect balance between drama and action, but here the balance is a bit less strong.

Especially since about 70 minutes of this film contain drama. We follow Purcell who has to endure quite a pile of problems. You would think that someone wouldn't be able to hit it that bad, but Boll does portray it raw and realistic enough that it seems believable to certain sizes. It is a lot of misery, clearly done for sentiment, but the directing style is appropriate enough.

Anyway, this film feels raw and realistic. Boll portrays it all as a kind of documentary, similar to Rampage, but with a little more polish. Also a bit less exciting as it is just a bit too predictable and especially goes on for too long. The poster promises a rough action movie, but that is a long time coming.

When it comes down to it, it's hard and effective, because Boll knows what to do with it. It doesn't get any more realistic than that, but the violence is hard and in-your-face. As a director, Boll has few limits anyway, and that is once again apparent in this film. I like that directors like Boll just set their own limits, I like it.

Furthermore, it is a bit long-winded during the first part. This is typically a film that you can largely watch with half an eye, since everything is fairly predictable and standard and is not portrayed in an innovative way. It's a shame that the film takes so long to get going, but the acting and raw directing are appropriate. A reasonable disappointment, but not a bad film by Boll.
