Tarzan plot
"An immortal legend. As you've only imagined."
Deep in the African jungle, a gorilla mother names an abandoned baby Tarzan and adopts him as her own son, even though the leader, the silverback Kerchak, shuns this hairless wonder. Tarzan grows up with his wisecracking monkey friend Terk and his neurotic comrade, the elephant Tantor. He develops all the instincts of an animal and learns everything about the jungle, while soaring and swinging through the trees at lightning speed. “No matter where I go, you will always be my mother.”
“And you will always be in my heart.”
Nice. First of all, Tarzan looks great, and the animations are impressive. Especially the scenes in which Tarzan, Jane and the animals float through the jungle are impressive. The bond between Tarzan and his ape mother Kala, and that between Tarzan and Jane, is very much worked out. Funny and vicious, but sometimes quite sentimental as we are used to from Disney. The music of Phil Collins is sometimes very present, but it doesn't really disturb. And it fits this cheerful and enjoyable Disney movie.

Great animation beyond expectations that can still be used after 23 years! And the story has unfortunately lost none of its relevance after 110 years (!!): where do you belong, if you are away from where you are today but does not resemble where you went? Under the motto 'if you are not like us you are not ours' you fall between the two. The animation captures the emotions very well. Of course, in terms of technology, it cannot be compared with the anno 2022 standard from Disney or Pixar, but it looks visually beautiful. Compare it to the typical Japanese animation style or how Tintin is drawn. The voices are well spoken and there is a lot of humor in the film that is also fun for adults. The character development is also well portrayed. Actually, there is not much to highlight. Okay, maybe the music.... everyone can have their own opinion about that
. All in all a very successful animation film for young and old. 4 stars.
