A fantastic Raul Arevalo plays a gay flight attendant here, and he does it in such a stereotypical way that I couldn't help laughing several times. It's a shame this film got such a low score. I'm almost doubting myself, but I found the film enjoyable and quite daring. Everything in the film looks meticulously crafted, to the point of clinicalness, and I love that. Bright, vibrant colors, precise and clearly crafted sets constructed with great care and love, a beautiful plane emblazoned with a cleverly invented name for the airline (very appropriate for Spain: "Peninsula"), and the uniforms of the pilots and crew. During the closing credits, I was pleasantly surprised once again by the song "The Look" by the group Metronomy. The enjoyment I received from this film deserves four well-deserved stars.

I've noticed that Almodovar is often a make-or-break after about 12 films. This was far below that, and even the worst I've ever seen from him. A truly tedious film where clichés about homosexuality fly around. Literally, even. I found it anything but funny, with its irritatingly caricatural characters.

The content is also quite lackluster. The all-star cast tries to make something of it, but even that didn't impress me. It seems more like a local film, but because it's an Almodóvar, it's gained some recognition abroad.

The film pretends to be funny, but I don't really get what's funny about rape, cheap sex jokes, and making fun of gay people.
