Furcht plot

Count Greven (Bruno Decarli) steals an idol of Buddha from the Indian temple of Djaba after learning about the statue's beauty and mystical healing powers. Since then, he has been tormented by guilt and lives isolated in his castle, fearing the vengeance of the Indian priest (Conradt Veidt). At night the Indian priest comes to visit him in his castle and gives him seven years to live. The first years Greven loses himself in partying, but the closer he gets to the seventh year, the more anxious he becomes.
