Man on the Run plot
Deserted Sergeant Peter Burden was able to escape from prison a few days before the end of World War II and then fled to London. In London, Burden struggles to make ends meet as a bartender and when he's short on cash again, he decides to cash in his old service revolver at a pawnbroker. But just as Burden has unpacked his revolver, the store is robbed, killing a police officer. The pawnbroker accuses Burdon of being a member of the gang of robbers. Believing that he cannot convince the police, Burden flees to the East End where he meets Jean Adams who is hiding him. Can Burdon convince Jean and the police of his innocence?
