Railroad workers have not been paid for several months as Whitey Harbin and his gang of outlaws raid rail freight transporters with salary payments. Whitey can count on the assistance of the young gunfighter Lee McLaine, aka 'The Utica Kid'. Former railroad employee and present-day musician Grant McLaine is drawn into discord by railroad tycoon Ben Kimball to incognito accompany a new transport of paychecks.
