What a terribly bad movie this is. The whole movie is laced with clichés, one after the other.

It's a totally unbelievable story about an ex-general who is bullied by a very vindictive prison director, Gandolfini (who I consider very highly as an actor, by the way).

Acted over the top by both Redford and Candolfino.

The events in the film are so predictable that you insult a ten-year-old child with that.

Cringing that wall (how do you come up with it) and then that bulldozer.

What bothers me is the fact that actors like Redford and Gandolfino get involved in such a project.

What is this Redford still trying to prove? that he still looks good at his age?

1 Star for Gandolfini's Glasses!

A good general knows how to wage war. The prison warden may start to sweat, because the military prison will have a top general, and you can say a national hero. The director seems to forget that his prisoners are soldiers who must be treated according to a certain code of honor, and gradually takes on their anger. The way in which the general, played by Redford, just raises an army and starts a guerrilla within the walls is very unbelievable, but it nevertheless makes for an entertaining film with a ditto finale. The 4 stars therefore go entirely to the high entertainment level... and Gandolfini of course, who shines as the power-hungry director.

Unbelievable. Film has to rely on the two protagonists, who know how to make something out of such a nonsense story. Lots of famous actors, trying their best to make it work, but it's cringe-inducing, especially at the end. But yes, even with actors the chimney has to smoke.
