The Scarlet Lady plot
The beautiful Russian revolutionary Lya takes refuge in Prince Nicholas' palace. She hides under his bed because of the cruel Cossacks. Nicolas finds her there, lets her stay in the palace and takes her on as head of the household. Gradually, Nicholas and Lya fall in love. But then Nicholas learns from his servant that Lya was once the mistress of Zaneriff, a hated leader of the Communists. He then breaks off his relationship with Lya.
