Alex is an emotional mess whose life is on a steep downward spiral. Jim is an antisocial misfit who lives with his grandfather. After they are both kicked out by their band, they have no choice but to join forces. Cassidy, a bored rock 'n' roller, tries to support the bumbling duo, especially with the Battle of the Bands approaching.
