This Christmas horror titled 'ATM', was more or less recommended to me by the gentlemen of It's Only a Movie. On their way back from a Christmas party, three friends have to withdraw money, only to be held by a mysterious stalker.

The film was nicely shot and had some tense moments, but it was a bit too clumsy to be really good. The moment when the three main characters who see Killer for the first time was brought so badly and unbelievably. How paranoid are those guys, every normal person would have just walked to the car.

The film does not create a good Christmas atmosphere and the kills sound brutal but are bloodless and boring. I kept waiting for the punch line, but it didn't come. The film clearly tries to imitate Phone Boot a bit, but is even cheaper and is much less strong.

Better put on Gremlins or Black Christmas next time.

revised.

Not for fun, by the way, but for an event in which I participate. Otherwise I wouldn't have reviewed the film quickly, I don't need that so much. However, the figure remains the same, but not for the reasoning I indicated in my previous post which can still be found here on the page.

The film was a lot tougher to get through this time and that was mainly due to the fact that the setting is not particularly interesting. The location is almost entirely an ATM booth and it's just not that exciting, despite some attempts to make it interesting. It just won't work out that way.

Acting is also only half. Eve and Peck play well, but Geraghty gets lost. His role never seems sincere. I also didn't like the threat of the killer anymore. I used to think his appearance was a bit scarier, but now I thought it was all simple. Boring figure actually.

The characters' actions are still dumb, although fear may remain a major factor. Under fear you just think a bit safer I think, or not. In any case, there were plenty of moments where you could run away. It wasn't all that far to a public road.

Visually quite stylish and cold, but just not enough to make it interesting as a whole. Camera work is too classic and tension is just too far away. Fortunately it doesn't take long and the start is nice, the setup is also well thought out. As a snack still doable, as a whole still moderate. It's also nice that the comedy isn't annoying in the beginning and the characters never become this themselves.
