An experimental film in which the storylines of different characters run parallel and intertwined, whereby not so much a plot is put down as an atmosphere. An aristocrat lady no longer has any connection with her husband. The coachman of the house finds them attractive, but he sees more in maid Clara. The master of the house struggles with guilt that he fights with alcohol.
