Claustrofobia plot

Eva (Carolien Spoor) is a beautiful young student. When she finds a beautiful apartment in Amsterdam, she meets her new neighbor Alex (Dragan Bakema). Eva and her friend Cynthia (Juliette van Ardenne) are immediately impressed by this charming man. After a night out, the three of them end up in his apartment. Cynthia does her very best to win Alex over, eventually Eva withdraws and goes home alone. Still completely dazzled by the evening, she does not notice that she is not alone in the house. The intruder pounces on her and Eva loses consciousness. A few hours later, Eva wakes up chained to a bed in a bare concrete basement. She has no idea how she got there, much less why she's being held. Her unknown captor takes good care of her, maybe even a little too well. It's only when she discovers the huge cut on her stomach that she really panics.

Still quite enjoyed it actually. Obviously the film has some flaws when it comes to dialogue and some plot inconsistencies, but the acting of most of the actors and actresses is doable, the story is intriguing and it never gets boring. It's also nice that Eva as a character does not constantly remain in the pathetic victim role, but continues to resist well throughout the film and also physically rejects herself. It could easily have been a film with a constantly whining lead actress, but the fact that she was always resourceful to escape is in her favour.
Not too special filmed, but functional. I find the condescending reactions on the first page of this film about 'typical Dutch junk' very exaggerated. The film is certainly not perfect, but it does give me hope that Boermans will come up with more nice films.

Terrible movie. Exciting in itself, he doesn't lack that. You are captivated from start to finish. You won't get there just with tension. 1. The motive, for example, is totally contradictory. The girl who used to lock him up, does he now let him live? And even arranges new organs for her? Why? Why doesn't he just kill her? 2. The fact that the landlord hears someone screaming for help from the basement, but decides to operate on his own is downright laughable. Why don't you call the police and do a raid? After all, you are the landlord. 3. The fact that the detective doesn't think of keeping the suspect in the station by informing his colleagues, or even informing him about him and his fake appointment at all, is pretty annoying. 4. And it becomes completely unbelievable when the detective starts breaking in on his own and after everything he knows about this dangerous madman, still doesn't think for a moment: hey let me call for backup.
The film nevertheless gets 0.5 stars because I really had to laugh at the neighbor who turned out to be blind? That was the highlight of the film.
