Frankenweenie plot

"The electrifying dog is back from beyond the grave"

Based on Tim Burton's short film of the same name from 1984. The story revolves around young Victor and his dog Sparky. Victor wants to hide his creation from the outside world, but that's not to the liking of the little monster...

Nice movie, ideal just before Halloween.

The dog is very charismatic and luckily the animals in this movie can't talk unlike most animated movies.

Also no romantic subplot for the boy, only for the dog and his neighbor dog, but that can be called cute rather than annoying.

The story is certainly not great, but perhaps because of the simplicity and recognizability (child wants to see his dead pet alive again) and because of the nice dog, this film entertained me quite a bit.

Nice animated film that captures the core and character of Frankenstein and a few other horror classics in a charming and witty way.

Another strong example of animation from Burton's very fertile imagination. This Disney-level Frankenstein is heartwarming and at the same time macabre, and for the youngest this is a bit too dark towards the end, with a big jumpscare even. It's everything you'd expect from a good Burton: dreamy, macabre, gothic, yet full of human emotions and nods to the horror genre and even the Japanese manga (? That turtle immediately reminded me of Gamera). Not my favorite Burton, but an extremely successful result.
