The treasure of the 'Nibelungen' is said to be the largest lost treasure in the world and is probably still hidden somewhere in Germany. Archaeologist Eik Meiers (Benjamin Sadler) is convinced of this and was obsessed with finding the treasure to prove that the treasure is real and not a legend. However, this obsession cost him the lives of his wife and his best friend. Ten years later, Eik now lives a withdrawn life with his daughter Kriemhilde (Liv Lisa Fries). Then suddenly a new, crucial clue emerges. Together with the young, extroverted Justus (Fabian Busch) and the sexy and intelligent, but also nervous Katharina (Bettina Zimmermann), he embarks on a spectacular quest throughout Europe.
