"She discovered a new branch of her family tree... the one with all the nuts."
When Flora Poste suddenly loses both her parents, she is left penniless. She reports her good friend Mrs. Smiling as she goes to the countryside to visit her family at the derelict Cold Comfort Farm. Flora finds there a complete chaos, led by the old-fashioned strict Ada Doom. But Flora's arrival means a complete turnaround. The farm is slowly starting to flourish again, just like the residents. In addition, Flora has to deal with the obsessed eccentric Mybug. A blanket of romance falls over Cold Comfort Farm and none of the residents can escape it...
