Sherwood's Travels plot

Marian (Serena Scott Thomas) and Robert Sherwood (Jamey Sheridan) are a happy couple. Not only is their love still as great as before they married, they both love their job equally: writing exotic travel guides. The fact that they sometimes steal works of art or jewelry is a suitable additional income. They arrive in picturesque Amalfi, where British Inspector Donen (Edward Fox) is also on vacation with his wife (Prunella Scales). Donen has been following them for a long time, but has never been able to prove anything. Shortly after their arrival, a richly decorated cross disappears from the church. A clear case for Donen, but this time he is not right. The Sherwoods want to solve the case themselves and suspect that art collector Raphael De Pietro (Ben Gazzara) knows more about the theft.
