Hans Polak shows the struggle of GGD employees in Rotterdam to offer a dignified existence to clients who find themselves on the margins of society. Nuisance, hygienic problems, drug use and loneliness in Rotterdam are discussed. Polak films people who neglect themselves and their living environment and/or are 'forgotten' by family and society. Social workers and social nurses try to help them.
