Borg/McEnroe plot

"Some stars shine forever"

The story follows the rivalry between tennis stars Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe in the 1970s and 1980s. Both players were known as technically gifted tennis players. But where Borg stood cool and almost emotionless on the court, McEnroe was the enfant terrible of the tennis world. Their rivalry culminated in the legendary 1980 Wimbledon final.

Surprised by the low score on moviemeter. It's not a masterpiece, but I thought it was a successful film nonetheless. Also visually very interesting. The tennis images are shot very nicely. The story is also interesting. I knew very little about it myself, not even the results. So that does matter. Funny thing is that in the interview scene McEnroe says it's always about Borg. And that's in the movie itself. Clearly the more interesting character. Cast is also very good. And especially loved the music.

3.5*

Quite entertaining and entertaining film about tennis legends Borg and McEnroe. Rather, the focus is on Borg's situation. Too bad McEnroe couldn't be featured more. What I didn't know is that Borg was also a tantrum in his youth, but lost his matches because he lost too much energy and focus due to the negative. That same energy, however, that just helped McEnroe move forward ...

Nice performances by both actors, although the real McEnroe came out a bit tougher when he had it on the field. Also a fine Skarsgard, which rarely disappoints. It is a pity that the tennis event itself was perhaps just a little too little present, but it is also fun to follow.

Interesting film adaptation of 2 tennis players with different characters and backgrounds.

I thought the actors played well. However, there was little floor, which made them both the way they were.

For example, Bjorn had certain traits that the tennis rackets had to be checked carefully, or he was not allowed to stand on a white line, because that brought bad luck.

For example, John had a gift that he could calculate well. And sometimes he seemed to have some autistic traits. This was not really investigated further.

It was also a shame that they didn't let the film continue in the story for a year longer, because the 6th time John won over Bjorn. Anyway. Furthermore, a nice look at both players and everything that comes with it.
