"Some sentences never end"
Jack is a model inmate who is quietly serving his time in a British prison. When his wife informs him that she is leaving him on their deceased son's birthday, the only thing that keeps him going is the presence of the new young prisoner Paul. Cellmate Ahmed tries to keep Jack on the right track. Jack, in turn, makes sure to keep Paul out of the hands of Clay, the leader of the wing. He encounters the curiosity of Chief Warden Donner and the violent determination of Clay.
