This gripping, candid documentary about Romy Schneider, who died in 1982, is split into two parts. The first part is based on the correspondence that the German actress had with her friend Christiane Höllger, and tells the positively tinted story about hopes, ambitions and loves. That optimism has disappeared in part two, in which an insecure Schneider, affected by the death of her son David and failed loves, is portrayed.
