Guy and Jimmy are best friends recently released from prison. They immediately commit another robbery and take one million pounds. Meanwhile, while digging for the Olympic Games, an ancient tomb from the time of the plague is discovered. When the archaeologists open the tomb, they are struck down by a mutated virus, turning them into mindless man-eating zombies. Soon all of London is overrun with zombies and the city is quarantined by the military.

Sad Shaun.

The title of this horror comedy suggests more fun than it actually offers. Despite a foul-mouthed Alan Ford. His character, who makes his way out of the retirement home, even starts to irritate after a while. An old man who can look very dirty and sticks 'cunt' and 'fuck' to everything becomes a bit sad after a while. Where is the director when you need him?

This video in which the common man, or average petty thief, suddenly has to deal with zombies is one that feels like mustard after dinner. This genre mix is now quite tired. Especially when humor needs to be added, the inevitable comparison with Shaun of the Dead and all the rest arises. Director Hoene still does quite well with a smooth opening and the presentation of nice characters, but later on it drops considerably.

Halfway through, the standard but entertaining crime story increasingly makes way for boring conversations with the zombies, up to a lame and too late ending. Despite the many extras, the film feels a bit shabby, something which is further emphasized by the poor kills and CGI. That would have been less problematic if it could have been laughed out loud, but unfortunately that is disappointing. A fairly standard work that borrows heavily, but an Edgar Wright or Guy Ritchie is sorely missed here.

Average.

Thanks to A-film for the review copy.

Zombies and cockneys, in this somewhat flat variant I believe there is something new - although the parts themselves are quite hackneyed of course. Yet it does produce something funny here, despite the fact that the comedy part occasionally remains a bit on the bland and thin side - and I especially thought the cockney jokes came out a bit poorly, such as the rhyming slang for example. And as has been said before, Alan Ford steals the show.

Well.

Another zomedy, but this time with oldies and a few others. A nice idea, but not very well developed. The humor is typically a bit British, but fortunately not so vulgar and occasionally comical.

The film is not very interesting, but it does have some nice scenes. Sometimes there is no lack of gore, which also helps the film a bit. The cast does a very good job, but the film never manages to be particularly funny or refreshing.

In terms of appearance it's a nice snack, but the film doesn't exactly excel in anything. Fine for a relaxing moment, but for a really good zombie movie you'd better get another one.
