Intelligent, outwardly cultivated Wayne Strarton, with the help of accomplice Maria Ranfield, kidnaps the daughter of a wealthy businessman. He tells his victim that in the subterranean container where she is being held captive, food and air are sufficient for seven days. Then the matter must be finished, otherwise she will suffocate or die of hunger and thirst. He also provides this notice to the terrified parents, from whom he demands half a million dollars. It will be a race against time.
