A film that faithfully follows the laws of the genre and is therefore not surprising or predictable. That does not detract from the fact that the acting is beautiful in this film and that it is not difficult to sympathize with the main characters, although here and there there is a bit too showy aiming for the viewer's tears. The central theme in this film, grieving, is given plenty of space and the various stages thereof are beautifully made visible in this film. All in all a nice film and therefore 3*.

Good film in which a man moves with his son after the loss of his wife to start over. A film about grieving for both father and son. They each have their own story here, which makes the film entertaining. The characters are well developed and the good acting of the entire cast also helps. Not much new under the sun, but 3.5 stars are appropriate.

Comedy is misplaced considering the themes this film is about. Strong role from Wiggins as a father who continues to revolve around his own trauma, despite outside impulses. Ultimately, this leads to a confrontation between father and son, well played by Simmons, who in his bond with Rush comes into contact with a different form of family with far-reaching consequences for her and her sister. Then there is Delpy who, as a French teacher, feels the issues well and wants to be a beacon. Strong game again. Ultimately, this film gives a realistic insight into life and that grieving is of essential importance.
