"Who needs the world when you own the moon and stars."
Michelle (Anicée Alvina) and the elderly Paul (Sean Bury) run away from home together and head into the Camargue in southern France, where their friendship gives way to a great love. He finds a job, she becomes pregnant and the future seems bright until suddenly their parents are at the door...

A hilariously poorly acted and developed love story, a sort of precursor to The Blue Lagoon, but set in the Camargue in southern France. Lead actress Anicée Alvina is very beautiful but can't act, making the film quickly unserious. Add to that a lousy script and tacky, pretty filmmaking, and you have... not much. Apparently, this was incomprehensibly successful enough at the time to warrant a sequel, Paul and Michelle. I'll pass.
