Answers to Nothing plot

The stories of six characters intertwine, revealing the good and the bad in them: set against the backdrop of a child's abduction, we follow five days in the life of the detective and single parent assigned to the case and her best friend, whose determination to get pregnant prevents her from confronting her husband about his infidelity. Meanwhile, a teacher becomes obsessed with the missing child and a defeated cop mourns the violent death of his wife. The wheelchair-bound brother of a recovering addict preparing for the Los Angeles marathon and a hateful African-American TV writer looking for love also feature in this modern urban mosaic.
