Themba plot
11-year-old Themba lives with his mother Mandisa and his younger sister Nomtha in poor conditions in a small village in the Eastern Cape. His great passion is football. He seizes every opportunity to play football with his best friend Sipho and emulate their great examples Zidane, Ronaldo and the South African stars including Andile Khumalo. Together with his football friends, Themba founds the team the 'Lion Strikers'. But when his mother leaves him and his sister Nomtha alone to take her unemployed drinking friend Luthando to Cape Town to earn money for herself and the children, she hopes that football will give him a chance to forget his worries. But the next day he leaves for Cape Town with his sister, to look for their mother...
