Sweet Kitty Bellairs plot
In 18th-century England, a carriage is bound for Bath, carrying Lord Verney, a girl named Lydia and a famous flirt known as Sweet Kitty Bellairs, who is en route to visit her sister Julia, the wife of Sir Jasper Standish. They are all robbed by a highwayman, who returns Kitty's valuables, along with kisses and hugs. Kitty charms the people of Bath and receives a fiery poem from the timid Lord Verney, along with a promise from the highwayman. She also makes Standish think his wife has been unfaithful to him and that Verney is the culprit. Later, when Standish, who distrusts everyone except Verney, is discovered by Verney in a compromising situation with Kitty, Verney claims Kitty is his wife. The next night, the highwayman kidnaps Kitty and turns into Captain O'Hara. He goes into a fight with a masked man, and whoever wins gets to claim Kitty...
