Herbstgold plot
True to the motto 'Rust Rust', Ilse, Alfred, Jiri and Gabre are all over 80 years old. Alfred is a 100-year-old discus thrower from Vienna, Juri is an 82-year-old high jumper from the Czech Republic, Ilse, 85, is a shot putter from Kiel and Herbert, 93, is from Stockholm. Sport is the most important thing in their lives, or rather competitive sport. Because their goal is to qualify for the World Senior Championship in Lahti, Finland, the Olympus of senior sport. They train in top form in the high jump, discus throw and shot put and they fear neither death nor the devil in their attempts to climb the podium. With fatalism but also with pride they fight against their own bodies, against time and above all, against the competition.
