Two lives, Alice's and Mattia's, begin separately but have a similar life course. They slowly grow closer and realize that they have a lot in common. But at the same time, there are things that ensure that they keep each other at a distance. After all, they are both marked by childhood events and inevitably carry them with them for the rest of their lives.

Book had been on the to-read list for a while, but my current reading pace is lousy, so I chose the film anyway.
Apparently I am one of the few who sees it, but I was very impressed by this film which is thematically somewhat related to La Double Vie de Veronique and in kind of dreamy reality to Los Amantes del Circulo Polar.
Two main characters in their youth physically or psychologically damaged and that causes even more damage years later: physical disability leads to psychological damage and psychological damage leads to physical damage and that once started with both as a stupid twist of fate.
I cannot judge exactly how the film relates to the book, but judged purely on its own merits as a film I can only conclude: one of the strongest films of recent years. Kept me very touched.

Watched this one and didn't know what to expect. It was not always clear which direction it was going, more thriller or drama. It's more like drama.
The cast did a good job and some nice music.
The film is sometimes a bit confused and is not always easy to follow.
Too bad it says on the cover that there are extras, but they can't be found on the disc.
Don't miss it.
