"The applause of the world... and then this!"
Movie star and alcoholic Norman discovers young unknown showgirl Esther and he turns her into an actress. They get married and her star is quickly rising in the showbiz world as his career comes to a slump. He finds it difficult to accept this and starts drinking more and more.
