In the year 2020, robot boxing is a popular sport and has completely replaced the traditional martial arts. Former boxer and current robot fighter Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) struggles to keep his head above water. When he learns that his son's mother has passed away, Charlie temporarily takes care of his son Max. Max comes across a written-off robot and thinks he can turn it into a champion. Together with his son, he creates a furore with the robot, while they gradually get to know each other better.

Great entertainment, sometimes a bit too sentimental and the hip-hop soundtrack is a bit mediocre, but all in all great fun. Even though you look at robots here, you still get the real boxing feeling with the accompanying punches of adrenaline and sympathy for the modest training robot Atom, who with the right training and guidance turns out to be able to compete with the big ones. The film also looks good, as far as CGI is used that is not too clear, in terms of animations it is much better to follow than, for example, Transformers (which of course can also move very fast and complicated).
Children's movie? Never mind, I guess I'm still a kid
