Whoever expects a satire on the American army will be left hungry. What you get is a flat story with no surprises. Damon's teenage jokes and pranks crop up right where you'd expect them to quickly get boring. This movie is definitely not a must. There is much better underpants lol...

Haha, I laughed my ass off with the kids. One of the funniest comedies ever.

This Damon is tough man. It runs in the family. And it is an underrated film which I do not understand. For me a five.

The Wayans Show.

Weekday, bombastic comedy film that you can easily watch for almost any occasion. They don't make them much safer than Major Payne does these days, but that doesn't mean the movie still has a healthy dose of entertainment. The film does not pretend to be much more than that.

The only pity is that the film can never stay exactly in balance. It goes a long way for a comedy film, with Wayans screaming almost nonstop, pulling the stage. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but if you get in the way of the more serious elements of the film, it does become a problem. That is also the case with Major Payne.

I think they should have just dropped the more serious aspects. These are not very special and especially very rehashed, so for me it was mainly time wasting of a story that is much more fun when it comes to direct interaction between Wayans and the kids. Wayans is looking forward to it and the children are also having fun, so the film could draw some energy from there.

It's not very special. As entertainment it is still quite stable, but the film mainly hinders itself by not completely choosing a genre, but developing several genres in a half-baked way. That just doesn't work very well. The comedy is especially not funny enough with it, and the more dramatic side is exhausting. Entertaining, short and smooth but not high quality.
