Money Talks plot

"This ain't no buddy movie."

Franklin Hatchett, a small-time con man from Los Angeles, suddenly and unintentionally becomes the center of attention when he is wrongly blamed for a bloody escape, the work of a Belgian international terrorist named Villard. In one fell swoop, he becomes the target of the police, who are willing to do anything to handcuff this 'police killer', and Villard, who wants to eliminate a nuisance witness. Hatchett can only count on the help of Russell, the journalist looking for a scope, to get himself out of the house.

I think it's seriously been about fifteen years since I've actually seen a movie in full on television. It's always just DVD, Bluray, Netflix on peanut butter but Veronica was on, Money Talks started and I haven't zapped.

It is a standard crime story in which two opposites have to help each other to get out of trouble. It is especially Tucker who makes a party of it. I understand that people don't like him, but I like to listen to his smooth chat. It's not hilarity at its best, but his facial expressions, deluge of posturing and impulsive behavior still make for a big smile. He actually plays the same character as he would a year later in Rush Hour. And instead of Chan, here it is Sheen who takes the more serious side.

Money Talks has a nice pace with some nice supporting roles from Paul Sorvino and the beautiful Locklear. Sufficient gun violence and an explosion here and through make the film a fun mix of comedy and action.

Used to watch several times around puberty and then clearly 1 of my favorites. More than 10 years later I still found the film entertaining and the joy of playing between Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen is very noticeable. Still, it's no longer that fantastic comedy that I saw in this before, but it's certainly not an annoying waste of time either.

Not special, but entertaining!

3*
