La Galerie des Monstres plot

The artist Riquet's is married to Ralda, a girl from a wealthy family. The couple leaves for Spain to perform in a circus. The circus director falls in love with Ralda, but she rejects him. The man is furious and takes revenge by opening a lion's cage during a circus number of the young woman. Ralda is seriously injured.
