Still scratching my head a bit. I really have no idea what to do with this movie. In any case, Miike isn't trying to tell a story. There is a common thread, but what this Dead Or Alive (at least better than that dramatic fight movie with the same name) is mainly a collage of random, especially bizarre fragments. At times I was able to laugh about it, although what you see is quite sad. I have to give Miike that he can at least make something interesting, although I've seen better films of his. It is also visually interesting at times, which goes well with the VHS image quality. Well, sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's crap.

Boring gangster film that doesn't live up to expectations after its promising beginning in kind of trailer style. Everything is very predictable. Tension 0.0 and also messy filmed. The actors save the film somewhat, but the screenplay is to cry. I'm not a fan of Japanese movies unlike Korean and Chinese movies and I'm afraid this movie won't change my taste. After 45 minutes I was more focused on my game on my mobile phone than on the movie and that was a long time ago! Wash me that a long time. A film to quickly forget. 2 stars

Second Miike after Ichi The Killer, and the last one didn't like much so the question was whether Miike would come out better with this. Well, not so as far as I'm concerned.

The beginning quoted by practically everyone, which is apparently so strong and renewed, I quickly experience as an annoyance. Yes, it's something different, but I can't do much with it. And really it just goes wrong from there. Her story, the characters, and in my eyes all those Asians look alike, but I don't rule out that it is also due to the fact that I have already shot the film at some point and no longer give it a chance to understand.

The slaughter in the restaurant is still a nice revival, except for that totally nonsensical moment of that character who first 'accidentally' puts his hand in all kinds of bowls before sticking his hand in the deep-fat fryer. Well... Asian humor? The final battle delivers exactly the same with a little revival, only to end up totally moronic.

Don't get me wrong that I can appreciate certain Asian cinema, but I can't do anything with this kind of gossip. Miike over and close as far as I'm concerned.
