Fall, 1952. A young urologist working at a hospital in the suburbs of Moscow desperately tries to get pregnant by her husband, a disillusioned physicist who survives only because of his love for his wife. To her astonishment, she is secretly summoned to take care of Stalin. Stalin, who is ill and teetering on the brink of death, has just got rid of his personal physician. The dictator squeezes between the couple and maintains a relationship with the young woman where trust and manipulation mix. The monster Stalin, alternately friendly and perverse, works his art of terror like never before.
