As a total fan of the genre, I thought it was pretty cool.

I've seen many worse werewolf movies.

The special effects etc. were somewhat lacking, a bit comparable to the older howling films.

And the final action scenes were somewhat reminiscent of Ginger Snaps.

The suspense remained strong for me. It was quite predictable, yes, but that's not why you watch a werewolf film... to be surprised.

And until the very last seconds the puzzle pieces fit together well enough.

Not horror, but entertaining and suspenseful enough for the last few hours of your weekend. Especially if you sleep in the attic afterward

Bad.

If you've ever wondered how a film with a decent amount of money still in its pockets can still look incredibly cheap and low-budget, you've found your answer with Night Wolf. It's also known by its many other titles. This film recently came out on Netflix, so I caught it, but it was a huge disappointment.

The acting is pretty weak to begin with, and I think I'd forgotten half the characters by the time the credits rolled. None of the roles stuck with me, and despite the film's attempts to flesh everyone out a bit, they're rather forgettable characters who I can't imagine will stick with you.

The horror itself manifests itself in a kind of slasher-like style combined with wolves. The wolves are never clearly visible, and the makeup is nothing to write home about. The gore is also disappointing. The murders are often cropped off-screen, leaving only off-screen splashes. This film is clearly rated 16+ and plays it rather safe, which is always a missed opportunity.

The film never quite makes the most of its location or backgrounds. It does offer some stylish visuals, enhanced with a nice filter. The energetic camerawork during those scenes also helps, and there's some experimentation with lighting. Furthermore, I found the filming rather poorly done, and director Glendening fails to make the conversations and dialogue engaging.

I thought it was a downright bad film that doesn't do the werewolf genre justice. Not that I particularly cared about it, but I was hoping for a slightly different perspective, and you don't get that here. It's just a tired repetition, and all it can offer are a few fun and colorful horror scenes interspersed. If that's all it is, then it really doesn't need more.

Rewatch !

An unexpected rewatch thanks to the title, Night Wolf, only realizing after about an hour that I'd already seen the film 10 years ago. Good is another matter, but the film still manages to entertain. The story is well-crafted, though most of the characters are rather annoying.
