In 1995, the financial world was rocked by one of the greatest banking failures in history. This is the story of Nick Leeson, the man who single-handedly accumulated so much debt that Barings Bank, the world's oldest commercial bank, went bankrupt. Nick is an ordinary working-class boy who through hard work and perseverance ends up in the Indonesian office of the bank. In the rapidly growing Asian economy, he incurs large losses, but manages to hide them cleverly behind seemingly fantastic deals. Only Nick realizes that his bank is in trouble, but he hopes to save himself.
