Slim Carter plot

The unfriendly and dull Country & Western singer Hughie Mack is discovered by the press agent Clover Doyle. Clover turns Mack into a new Western hero and she changes his name to the stage name 'Slim Carter'. One day the uninhibited young orphan Leo Gallaher wins a competition and as a reward he gets to spend a month with Slim Carter. Leo seems to have a positive influence on Slim and it even appears that Clover has fallen in love with Slim.
