The American musician Arthur Russell was a barrel full of contradictions. On the one hand, a classically trained cellist with a considerable reputation within mimimal music and avant-garde; on the other hand, one of the trendsetters of 1970s disco and one of the founders of modern electronic dance music. A very talented musician who passed away in 1992 at the age of just 40. This documentary tells his life story based on stories of prominent musicians and acquaintances of Arthur.
