Le Rosier de Madame Husson plot
The chairwoman of a Norman patronage committee, Madam Husson, wants to award a prize to the most exemplary girl in the village. In the absence of enough virtuous candidates, she decides to distinguish a young man and chooses the good 'village idiot', named Isidore. The boy is overconfident by so much honor and soon little is left of his goodness. Especially after Isidore has consumed the necessary glasses of champagne, it seems that Madam Husson's choice was anything but right.
