you should know in advance that this was a play in the first place.

that means little movement and a lot of conversations.

but sometimes it bothers me, not in this case.

live real people about a real life topic.

no false sentiment, beautiful dialogues played convincingly.

I did expect that I would be moved. It was impressive, beautifully told.

but it didn't cut it, so to speak.

good drama movie.

Intriguing story that will leave you speechless. A shocking story that is portrayed in the right way by the director. Not by focusing on the accident itself (you only get to see a few fragments during the film), but on how the parents deal with it. And that makes you gasp at certain moments and even leaves you a little orphaned at the end. Great movie with good acting!

3.5*

Very strong drama.

Not too much fanfare, just purely on emotion. Kidman and Eckhart are like fish in water and know how to handle the roller coaster of emotions. A realistic look at what grief can do to a person, and how the processing can differ per person. Visually beautiful at times. The last scene is very telling and touched me deeply.

Spacious 3.5*.
