"The Immortal Story of Love and Intrigue During the French Revolution!"
Sydney Carton is an alcoholic lawyer. He takes on the case of French refugee Charles Darnay, who is accused of treason. Charles has a powerful, aristocratic uncle, a Marquis who has paid people to sue him. This is because Charles fled from him and his tyrannical rule. On his way to England, Charles also met Lucie, who managed to get her father out of the hands of the Marquis in France. Charles and Sydney both fall for Lucie's charms.
