Stone has a poster to counter you. With names like Edward Norton, Robert De Niro and Milla Jovovich, it can't go wrong. It also starts well. For a change, De Niro is not in an embarrassing comedy and Norton is also convinced with his presence. But it's like an auspicious train ride, starting with excitement, but getting no further than the station where it continues to circle in circles. The whole religious stuff, Jovovich's rather meager seduction attempt and Norton's incomprehensible motives. The actors are victims of a terrible script and what should be a psychological thriller has become a religious drama. I hope that De Niro can get a strong role again, because the combination with Norton should work if the film is well made. And that is not the case here.

This one was on TV and I gave it a try. I didn't really know what to expect, but it was quite a special story. You have to be a bit for it, because he is quite religious/spiritual tinged. A little less "God" was also allowed.

The cast certainly didn't do badly.

The film has mainly become a talk/drama.

I certainly didn't think it was a bad movie and I've watched it, but I don't want to see it again.

“We're all God's co-workers.”

Mediocre. Stone lacks suspense and an intriguing story, and the endless chatter between Norton and De Niro quickly gets boring. Jovovich as a not-too-smart femme fatale is miscast, and that you can deliver such a bad product with these actors is amazing. A small plus is the gloomy atmosphere created by John Curran, but that cannot save the film as a whole.
