"Every journey must begin with one small step."
Minangkabau, West Sumatra. Yuda, a talented practitioner of Silat Harimau, is about to start his 'Merantau'. This is an ancient ritual to be performed by the young men of the community, leaving his idyllic village behind to make a name for himself in bustling Jakarta. After a series of misadventures leave Yuda homeless, leaving his future uncertain, a chance encounter leads him to defend the orphan Astri from European traffickers.
