A blunt, straightforward action thriller in the countryside where opponents are turned into sausage (the subtitles are a bit gross) and the trade is not limited to animal meat. Lee Marvin is the well-groomed, cool handyman who plays an away game, but of course he does not let anyone mess with him.

Hackman is given too little to do to speak of a formidable opponent, Sissy Spacek shows more. The farmland brings a cool scene in a wheat field with an aggressive threshing machine and the whole thing is still torn to pieces. In its entirety a somewhat sloppy film, but it has its moments.

Mediocre film in which a gangster from Chicago collects a debt from a cattle farmer in Kansas. A film with a thin story. The film comes up with some surprising scenes here and there due to a number of grotesque scenes. This also makes the whole thing somewhat unbalanced. For Sissy Spacek this film was her debut.

Lee Marvin and Sissy Spacek.

The film's intro is unsavory enough to make anyone want to become a vegetarian immediately - and if that's how it was done in 1972, I wonder what it's like today. For example, a term like 'separated meat' comes to mind.

Furthermore, it is mainly about that dress, the combine and the cattle pens - but the red truck also deserves to be mentioned, the camerawork is sometimes quite interesting, and the locations are also quite good. All in all, the film deserves a light cult status.
